COMMON QUESTIONS
- How do I learn to play chess?
- Tap LEARN on the main menu. It shows how each piece moves on a real board, and explains check, checkmate, stalemate, castling, en passant and promotion in plain language. It assumes you have never played.
- The battles take too long.
- Options → Battle Animations. Full plays the whole duel, Short keeps it brief, and Off skips straight to the result.
- Can I turn the board around?
- Yes. Put two fingers on the board and slide to turn or tilt it, pinch to zoom. A small button appears in the corner to put it back the way it was.
- Is there online play?
- Yes — through Game Center, 1v1 or 2v2, turn by turn. Your turn waits for you, so a game can take an evening or a week. You can also play against the computer at four strengths, or hand the device to somebody sitting opposite you.
- My progress disappeared.
- The game stores everything on your device, so deleting and reinstalling the app clears it. iOS can also clear an app's storage when a device is very low on space. There is no cloud backup because there is no account and no server.
- Is it safe for my child?
- There is no chat, no account and no data collection. There are optional rewarded adverts, which are never shown unless your child chooses to watch one to unlock a novelty mode — the game is complete without ever touching them. See the privacy policy.
- How do I get tokens, and what are they for?
- Tokens unlock optional fun modes for one match — a piece that survives one attack, for example. The only way to earn one is to watch a short advert, by choice. They never buy an advantage: strict chess is the default and costs nothing.
- Can I turn the adverts off?
- They are already off unless you ask for one. Nothing in the game shows an advert on its own.
- Does it need the internet?
- No. Everything runs on the device.
- How much does it cost?
- Nothing. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases — just optional rewarded ads for novelty modes.
ACCESSIBILITY
Battle animations can be shortened or turned off entirely, sound and music can be disabled separately, and vibration can be turned off. If something is hard to read or hard to reach on your device, please tell us — that is a bug worth fixing.
